Bourton Hall wedding
Holly & Alex had the most beautiful September wedding at Bourton Hall. This stunning venue is just a couple of miles down the road from me, and every time I photograph there, it’s an absolute joy.
The day began with some detail shots of the venue before I caught up with Alex and his best man, who arrived in one of the loves of his life - his Mini! Alex had lovingly restored it for the wedding and it looked incredible (and polished to absolute perfection, of course!).
Meanwhile, Holly was getting ready with her bridesmaids in the Lady Bourton Suite - one of the most gorgeous bridal prep rooms. The morning was so lovely and calm, filled with laughter and a few emotional ‘bride reveals’ before it was time to head to the ceremony.
Holly and Alex chose to say their vows in The Chapel at Bourton Hall, which was such a perfect setting for their heartfelt ceremony. After the I do's, guests lined up outside for a fun bubbles exit, before heading onto the lawn for drinks and canapés. We were treated to the most gorgeous September sunshine, making it perfect for some relaxed group photos and couple portraits. And there was a very special VIP who made an appearance for some photos - Holly & Alex’s gorgeous dog!
The reception setup was something I hadn't seen before at Bourton Hall - one long banquet-style table instead of the usual round tables, and I absolutely loved how it looked! Holly and Alex also added little touches of their shared love for skiing throughout the decor. But one of my favourite details? Their wedding cake choice: Colin and Connie the Caterpillar cakes! You really can’t go wrong with an M&S classic!
The speeches were lovely and Holly’s dad added a fun twist as he had the guests take part in a thumbs-up/thumbs-down questionnaire!
After the speeches and meal, we were treated to the most dreamy golden hour light! Bourton Hall has so many beautiful spots for portraits, and Holly & Alex absolutely nailed it.
The first dance at Bourton Hall is always amazing with the confetti drop from the guests on the staircase - it's such an epic moment to photograph! I couldn’t leave without capturing one last creative night portrait, and with Ben from BRS Films, we came up with the idea of a final shot in Alex’s Mini, which was the perfect way to end an amazing day!
