Ashton Lodge wedding photographer
Lauren and Martin got married at the lovely Ashton Lodge Country House in Warwickshire. It was such a wonderful day - despite the rain! And I think you'll love their Disney-themed touches to the day!
The morning started in the bridal room at Ashton Lodge, where Lauren and her bridesmaids were getting ready. It was lovely to work with Sam again, who did a fabulous job with the makeup. Martin was also at the venue getting ready with his groomsman, so I was able to get some photos of them getting ready too. I don't often get a chance to do this, as the groom normally gets ready somewhere else (although I do have the option to add a second shooter to any package for this reason!) After an emotional moment with Lauren's dad seeing her in her dress for the first time, it was time for the ceremony.
There was a little surprise during the ceremony when Martins's best men (his brothers) did the classic 'forgot the rings' joke. Then all of a sudden sirens could be heard and a remote control ambulance came speeding down the aisle with the rings! (Lauren and Martin both work within the NHS.)
The weather was a little bit hit and miss on the day. We did manage to get a quick all guests group photo and some confetti fun, but the rain got heavier, so it was back inside for the rest of the group photos. Luckily the rain did clear up just in time for us to get some couple portraits in the beautiful grounds at Ashton Lodge.
When they told me the day was going to have a Disney theme, I was excited to see how they would fit in Disney touches. So much of their decor was handmade and it looked fabulous. Each table was named after and themed around a different Disney film. From Cinderella to Toy Story, Alice in Wonderland to Lion King, the table decor and marquee looked fantastic. And check out that amazing Beauty and The Beast wedding cake!
After speeches, we sneaked in a few sunset shots, before they took to the dancefloor for their first dance, with Lauren's friend singing their song. After that Chromatic, got the party started - what a brilliant band! To be honest, I didn't want to leave, I just wanted to join the guests dancing. But after a long day and with photos to back up, it was time to leave them to enjoy the rest of the evening. Not leaving before getting a night couple portrait of course!
